F & Q:

How do I prepare my child for a therapy session?

If your child will be receiving therapy at school or a childcare center, let them know that the therapist will be visiting them at their school.

Sometimes, the therapist will escort the child to a specific area of the school or classroom, while at other times, the therapist will integrate into the classroom and participate in activities.

How long will my child need therapy?

There isn't a set timeline for how long your child may require therapy. Therapists establish specific objectives in your child's care plan. Once all goals are achieved or if there are no further concerns, the child, parent, and therapist can determine if the child is ready to be discharged from services. A care plan remains valid for one year, after which the therapist will reassess the goals.

What age Group do you serve?

Our practice sees children from 3 months old to young adult.

How do I know if my child needs speech or occupational therapy?

If you have concerns about your child's motor development or communication skills, they may benefit from therapy services.  Speech/Motor Development Screenings can be conducted to determine if your child is having difficulty in one or more areas. Always speak with your pediatrician about your concerns.

Do I need a referral for services?

Referrals from your pediatrician are necessary only if you are seeking reimbursement by your insurance company. Our providers will require a referral to issue a superbill.
